Douglas Kounty Kreative Kitchens has been in business in Arcola, Illinois only since July of 2004. However, we are an expansion of Gingerich Custom Woodworking which was located 4 1/2 miles northeast of Arthur, Illinois. Gingerich Custom Woodworking was established in 1989 by owner Ivan Gingerich at his home. Ivan had a thriving cabinet manufacturing business that was unfortunately destroyed by fire in May of 1995. The shop was struck by lightening in a powerful electric storm and was engulfed before any attempts to save it could be made. The difficult task of rebuilding began daybreak the next day.
Since completing rebuilding within 6 weeks of the fire, Ivan has again managed to create a thriving cabinet manufacturing business. Due to the fact that he was landlocked at the location of Gingerich Custom Woodworking, the new business of Douglas Kounty Kreative Kitchens was established at 1000 East Route 133, Arcola, IL 61911. Our first location had 9,000 square feet and the new facilities had 30,000 square feet. We manufacture kitchens and bath cabinets, home entertainment centers, office desks, small hutches, etc. in many varieties of wood, many door styles and colors of stains, paints and glazes. We handle everything you need from ordering, assembling and finishing. We will also come out and measure and we offer delivery and installation. We are a full custom manufacturer so we can build your cabinets to any specification you might need - whether it be taller, wider, or deeper than the standard cabinet measurements.
Unfortunately, on December 26, 2008 Douglas Kounty Kreative Kitchens was destroyed by fire, cause unknown. All that remains is the office. In June of 2009 we started production again at the old Gingerich Custom Woodworking Facilities with only 9,000 sq. ft. We are trying to stay busy and welcome any new dealer, contractors, and retail customers.
